What’s the Best Charger for Tesla?

If you have decided to upgrade your vehicle and reduce your carbon footprint by investing in a Tesla you are going to need to keep it charged. Indeed, one of the major advantages of electric vehicle ownership is the ability to power your car up while it is sitting idly on your drive overnight so you wake up every morning to a car that is fully fuelled and ready to go.

Tesla EV charger installers

But what is the best charger to install? With such a range of charging products available it can be confusing — unless you are a Tesla owner. Tesla is something of a wholistic manufacturer — not only do they recommend that Tesla EVs should only be charged via Tesla branded charging equipment they also give guidance as to which model of Tesla EV charger should be used with which model of Tesla EV.

As leading Tesla EV charger installers we are perfectly placed to advise and assist with all aspects of Tesla electric charger installation. It is important that any EV charger should be installed by properly qualified electricians, indeed Tesla strongly recommends that you should only use an installation company that they have approved to ensure your charger’s installation meets their quality specifications. We are proud to be an approved Tesla EV charger installer. When you come to Get Zero Emissions you can be confident that the installation of your Tesla wall charger is safely in the hands of recognised experts.

Tesla wall charger installation is extremely affordable, and does not need to take very long. Costs will of course vary depending on the details of the installation but generally the cost of supplying and fitting a Tesla EV charger will be around one thousand pounds — a relatively small sum when compared to the cost of a Tesla EV, or the cost of filling up with traditional fossil fuels. Fitting the charger is usually a relatively straightforward job for a properly experienced engineer so charger installations can usually be completed in a matter of a few hours.

Once that has been done an approved Tesla Wall Connector Installer can help you set up your Tesla app, and set up a charging schedule which can help you take advantage of off-peak electricity tariffs to make charging your Tesla even more convenient and cost effective — another advantage that an electric vehicle like a Tesla has over traditional internal combustion engine powered cars. When you are dependent on Petrol or Diesel you have to pay whatever the filling station wants to charge you — there is no such thing as “off-peak” petrol. When you are charging your vehicle on your drive you are able to take advantage of all kinds of money saving offers from your electricity supplier.

There are other ways to save money with an EV too. If you get your Tesla EV charger installed by an installation firm that is authorised by the Office of Zero Emissions Vehicles (OZEV), such as Get Zero Emissions, the work would be eligible for the OZEV grant. This is a UK Government scheme designed to encourage the usage of electric vehicles and can offset a significant proportion of the cost of installing a charger.

Once your Tesla EV charger has been installed all you need to do is plug in your vehicle as you would any other electrical appliance. Typically a Tesla EV charger can increase your vehicle’s range by up to forty five miles per hour of charging, meaning that maximum range would be achieved with an overnight charge even if your Tesla’s batteries were almost completely depleted at the start of the charging session.

So get some advice from an approved Tesla EV charger installation company and turn your own drive into your Tesla’s refuelling point to save money, time, and potentially, the planet!
